Privacy Policy

RedactedLabs is operated by Redacted Labs Inc., based in Ontario, Canada. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect

• Contact details you give us, such as your name and email address, when you email us or receive an invite.
• Discord details, such as your Discord username, so we can give you access to the members' server.
• Payment records, such as what you paid and when. Card and bank details are handled by Stripe. We do not store them.
• Basic technical data from visiting this website, such as your IP address and browser type, which our hosting provider logs for security and performance.

How we use it

• To send invites and manage your membership.
• To reply when you contact us.
• To keep records of payments as required by law.
• To keep the website and Discord server secure.

We only send you marketing email if you have agreed to receive it, and every such email includes a way to unsubscribe, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers we use to run RedactedLabs, and only as needed:

• Discord, which hosts our members' server.
• Stripe, which processes membership payments.
• Cloudflare, which hosts this website.
• Google Fonts, which serves the fonts on this website and receives your IP address when the page loads.

Some of these providers may store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Consent

We collect and use your information with your consent, which you give when you contact us, accept an invite or pay for a membership. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us. If you do, we may no longer be able to provide your membership.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our host, Cloudflare, may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the site from bots and abuse.

How we protect it

We limit access to personal information to the people who need it to run RedactedLabs, use accounts protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication, and rely on established providers for hosting and payments. If a breach of our safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as you are a member, and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, tax or accounting reasons (for example, the Canada Revenue Agency generally requires business records to be kept for six years). When we no longer need it, we securely delete it.

Age

RedactedLabs is only for people 19 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger, and we delete it if we learn we have.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent and ask us to delete it, subject to any legal requirement to keep certain records. Email contact@redactedlabs.ca and we will respond within 30 days, or tell you within that time if we need an extension the law allows.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
